Limelight AU
Raised by an impoverished, chronically ill and addicted single mother, after her death he fell through the cracks of the social safety net and ended up a homeless youth surviving on petty crime. He was eventually arrested, adopted into Holy Order, and given both a home and a purpose. Feeling the need to earn his place despite his background and lack of blessings, he worked hard to rise through the ranks and eventually managed to secure a position as a detective, where he has a reputation as a hardass workaholic with a chip on his shoulder.
